Sharm el Sheik is situated on the Southern tip of the Sinai peninsula, in Egypt. It has the Red Sea on one side and the mountains of Mount Sinai on the other. The most extraordinary diving destination in Red Sea. There are many diving sites along the 10 mile beach between Sharm el-Sheikh and Ras Nusrani. The coral reefs and the tropical fish, are among the greatest you can get across in the world.

Sharm el-Sheikh is Egypt's most expensive resort, with restaurant prices about 3 times normal. There are no budget hotels. Most of the population is working in the tourism, construction, health and education sectors.

The Sharm El-Sheikh mall provides shops with both foreign and local products, including jewellery, leather goods, clothing, pottery and books. There are hundreds of small shops in Sharm el Sheikh, and in Naama Bay as well as in the Old market. There are hundreds of shops and stalls to look at in old Sharm as well. All kinds of souvenirs can be bought these include hand woven carpets, paintings of the pyramids on parchment and tobacco pipes.

Sharm El-Sheikh is not famous for being a clubbing destination. There are numerous five star hotels that provide one with wide range of discos, bars and pubs. The old town contains a myriad of restaurants and night spots, such as the Hard Rock Cafe, and various well known fast food chains.

The Monastery of St. Catherine is one of the very few early Christian building complexes that have not been destroyed or reconstructed several times over the centuries. The monastery spiritual heritage is beyond estimation.

Ras Mohammed National Park a large under water national park located just south of Sharm el Sheikh. Many amazing dive sites to be found here. This is a reef second only to the great barrier reef. The park contains a variety of stunning geological features, including uplifted coral reefs, alluvial plains, Wadis valleys, granite and sandstone mountains and soft dunes.

The White Lagoon is only accessible by boat from Sharm el-Sheikh, and is one of the main attractions for every one. They belong to an archipelago that has status as protected area, and may not be visited in the future.
